Fall in love with the landscapes of the Costa Blanca! On this day trip to Tabarca, we'll visit the only inhabited island in the Valencian Community. We'll also visit the town of Santa Pola and the Pink Lake in Torrevieja, a unique spot in the province of Alicante.
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the indicated time at the Alacant bus stop and, from this spot located next to the port of Alicante, we'll head by bus to the south of the city.
Our first stop will take place at the Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja Natural Park, where we'll see the famous Pink Lake. Do you know why it has such a special colour? We'll discover the reasons as we walk along its shores and learn how salt is extracted. What's more, if you take the tour between February and May, you'll have the opportunity to see flamingos in their natural habitat.
After spending an hour visiting the Pink Lake in Torrevieja, we'll continue our tour of the Costa Blanca, heading to Santa Pola. At the port in this Alicante town, we'll take a boat to the island of Tabarca, the only inhabited island in the Valencian Community.
Once we disembark, we'll take a short guided tour of Tabarca to discover its main attractions, including the Baroque church of San Pedro and San Pablo. Also noteworthy are the gates of San Gabriel and San Miguel, located next to the walls surrounding the old town.
At the end of the tour, you'll have 3 hours of free time in Tabarca to stroll around, take a dip in the sea and enjoy a typical rice dish, made with rock fish from the island.
We'll meet again at the port of Tabarca to take the boat back to Santa Pola, where we'll take a short walking tour. Among its main attractions are the castle and the Central Market. After the tour, you'll have an hour of free time to continue exploring the town.
Finally, from Santa Pola, we'll begin our journey back to the meeting point in Alicante, where we'll finish this 11-hour adventure.
