Day Trip Details
After meeting up in the centre of Amsterdam, we'll leave the city behind towards Gouda, a city famous for its cheese. Did you know that Gouda cheese represents 60% of the national cheese production? Astounding!
As soon as we arrive at the city, we'll venture into its famous market which, while it continues to attract more and more tourists, remains a meeting point for small producers and customers. The Gouda market is, alongside Eam and Alkmaar, one of the few remaining traditional marketplaces in the Netherlands.
After visiting the market, we'll enjoy a cheese tasting in the "Waag", the building where cheeses were weighed—and are still weighed—before being sold.
Once the tasting comes to an end, we'll go on a guided tour of the city's historical centre, passing by landmarks like the Town Hall and the Church of Sint-Jan. Once the visit comes to an end, you'll have some free time to explore further and go shopping.
We'll be back in Amsterdam after a total of 7 hours.
