Be amazed by a true earthly paradise near Barreirinhas on this hiking route through the lagoons of Atins. A landscape of dunes and crystal-clear waters awaits!
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Barreirinhas between 7:40 and 8:30 am. Once everyone’s ready, we’ll hop into an off-roading vehicle and head toward the Lençóis Maranhenses region, a truly unique ecosystem.
After crossing sandy tracks, we’ll arrive at the National Park. There, we’ll start a hiking route that will take us to discover the most beautiful lagoons of the season. Did you know these natural freshwater pools are formed by rainwater collecting between the dunes? The contrast between the blue water and the white sand is simply stunning!
We’ll continue walking until we reach Atins Beach. Here, you’ll witness the impressive meeting point of the Preguiças River and the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll have free time to enjoy a refreshing swim, take dreamlike photos, and explore this setting of dunes and crystal-clear lagoons at your own pace.
Feeling hungry? We’ll stop in the village of Atins so you can have lunch on your own at one of the local restaurants and sample the area’s typical cuisine. With renewed energy, we’ll take some time to relax before starting the journey back.
Finally, we’ll return by off-roading vehicle to Barreirinhas, where we’ll end the excursion after just over 9.5 hours of adventure.
