We'll begin our guided tour of Basel at the Pisoni fountain. There, we'll briefly dive into the city's history, along the Rhine River, before setting off on our walk through the old town.
Our first stop will be the Basel Cathedral, a masterpiece of late Romanesque architecture. In front of its façade, we'll learn the details behind its construction in the 12th century. Since then, the structure has become a true symbol of the city.
We'll continue our tour at the Barfüsserkirche, an old Franciscan church that will take your breath away with its impressive architecture. Then we'll head to the Town Hall, a colorful Renaissance-style building whose façade is adorned with frescoes narrating the political and cultural history of Basel.
The next stop is in front of the Museum of Cultures, which houses a fascinating collection of objects from around the world. To conclude the tour, we will stop at the Tinguely Fountain, a modern sculpture that adds a contemporary touch to the old town.
