At 9 am we'll meet at Rua Duque de Caxias in Bento Gonçalves to start this tour of the Caminhos de Pedra. Do you want to know why they are called this way? We'll find out!
This route is considered a real open-air museum about the history of Italian immigration in Brazil, and we'll learn loads of interesting facts! During the tour, we'll learn how the Italian culture merged with the local culture, based on cattle raising and vineyard cultivation.
We'll visit the Parque da Ovelha, where we'll learn about the care of these animals, and our next stop will be at the Cantina Strapazzon, which dates back to the end of the 19th century. Here we'll discover the winemaking tradition of the region. Also, did you know that this place has been the setting for several movies? One of them was the 1995 Brazilian film O Quatrilho.
We'll conclude the excursion with a view of Casa Bertarello, a stone house that served as lodging for the first immigrants who arrived in this area of the country.
From here we'll return by bus to Bento Gonçalves and drop you off at the starting point at around 1 pm.
