Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Plaza Moyua, from where we'll set off on our private walking tour of Bilbao. As this is a private tour, you'll also be able to choose the places we visit.
We'll start by exploring the modern part of Bilbao, where you'll find the Guggenheim Museum. This architectural marvel showcases a vast collection of modern and contemporary art, and has become a symbol of the city. From there, we can cross the striking Zubizuri Bridge, known for its unique design.
Next, we'll venture into Bilbao's 'Ensanche' district, where you'll see the city's impressive modernisation. As we wander through this area, you'll be able to admire a variety of architectural styles and pass by the lovely Doña Casilda Iturrizar Park. This neighbourhood is also home to the renowned Bilbao Fine Arts Museum.
Afterwards, we'll pause at the Arriaga Theatre, a Neo-Baroque opera house, before strolling along the river and admiring iconic buildings such as the Town Hall.
Next, we'll wander around Bilbao's famous Old Town, whose iconic Seven Streets were once the walled part of the city. While we're in the Old Town, we could visit the Plaza Nueva (New Square). This neoclassical square was built in 1821 and houses a number of bars and restaurants.
If you're interested in seeing Bilbao's churches, we recommend visiting the magnificent Santiago Cathedral, a Roman Catholic church which dates back to the 14th century. Another church worth adding to our route would be the Church of San Nicolás, a beautiful building built in the Baroque architectural style.
Finally, after a total of 3 hours, we'll say our goodbyes at a bar in the Old Town, where we'll treat you to a pintxo (a traditional Basque tapa) and a drink to choose from a glass of wine, a beer, water, coffee or tea!
