Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Largo Carlo Felice to begin this trip to Campidano Plain, Marmilla Valley, and Giara. Let's go! During the drive, we'll get to see some of the most fascinating landscapes in inland Sardinia and, if we're lucky, we might even spot some of the wild horses that live here.
We'll leave Cagliari behind, travelling across the vast and picturesque Campidano Plain. Throughout this 1-hour journey, we'll enjoy scenic views of olive groves, small traditional villages, and hills that will reveal the beauty we'll come across in the region of Marmilla.
Before continuing our day trip, we'll make a stop in Villamar, a charming village where you can relax, drink a coffee, and take photos. Our outing will then culminate with a visit to the spectacular volcanic plateau of Giara, a unique place because of its geological origin as well as the wildlife it is home to.
Here, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time to explore this remarkable region, famous for its wild Giara horses, a unique breed that has lived freely for centuries. Additionally, you’ll be surrounded by the native cork oak forests. Get ready to breathe in the fresh, pure air.
Lastly, we'll begin our return journey to Cagliari, where we'll arrive after a total of 4 hours.
