We’ll begin our private tour of Cambridge at the main entrance of St. Mary the Great Church, one of the city’s most important churches, as it is the official church of the University of Cambridge. Don’t you think this is the perfect place to start exploring Cambridge’s great historical landmarks?
Throughout the tour, we’ll follow an itinerary that will allow us to experience Cambridge in a personalized and deeply intimate way. We’ll walk through the historic center of this university town, admiring the various colleges that make up the university and learning all about this historic institution, founded in 1209.
Our walk will take us past Senate House, the ceremonial heart of the University of Cambridge. Did you know that student graduation ceremonies are held here? From there, we’ll visit some of the city’s most notable colleges, such as Gonville and Caius College, Clare College, and, of course, Trinity College and King’s College.
Throughout the tour, we’ll share the most fascinating facts and anecdotes about what has happened within these walls, from the notable figures who studied at these colleges to the books housed in Cambridge’s most important library, and the scientific breakthroughs that changed the world. From the discovery of DNA to the famous apple that inspired Newton’s law of universal gravitation.
We’ll also stop at other notable landmarks in Cambridge, such as the Corpus Clock, St. Benedict’s Church, and the famous pub, The Eagle.
To wrap up the tour, we’ll head to the Mathematical Bridge, a famous wooden footbridge from 1749 that spans the River Cam, connecting two sections of Queen’s College and hiding fascinating stories. It’s the perfect spot to say goodbye!
