Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel in Porto de Galinhas, we’ll head north to discover one of Brazil’s most beautiful architectural gems: Olinda.
We’ll begin by visiting the Eufrásio Barbosa Market. Built between the 17th and 18th centuries, this building welcomes us with its unique blend of history and local culture. From here, we’ll explore the heart of the historic center, where narrow streets and colorful façades transport us back to the colonial era.
We’ll make a special stop at Anticuario Arte Machê Café. There, we won’t only admire the interior architecture of a typical house, but we’ll also have the opportunity to taste the famous Bolo de Souza Leão, a traditional delicacy from Pernambuco, accompanied by artisanal coffee.
We’ll continue our walk to the Ribeira Market, known for its wood and ceramic handicrafts. After enjoying its viewpoints, we’ll reach the iconic Quatro Cantos, the epicenter of Pernambuco’s Carnival, flanked by the impressive Misericórdia Slope. Will you dare to climb it?
The route will also take us past the Museum of Contemporary Art, housed in a former building that once served as a prison and episcopal palace, before reaching the famous Rua do Amparo. This street, full of artists’ studios and restaurants, captures the city’s bohemian essence. We’ll pause at the iconic Botega do Veio to soak up its authentic and welcoming atmosphere.
To round off the day, we’ll head up to Alto da Sé. There, we’ll enjoy views of the sea and the churches. Finally, we’ll begin the return to Porto de Galinhas, arriving after 7 hours in total.
