On this day trip to Ciudad del Este from Foz, we'll cross the border and the Paraná River to visit one of Paraguay's main commercial and tourist centers.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu and set off on this day trip to Ciudad del Este. Within minutes, we'll have crossed the Paraguayan border and arrived at our destination.
Once in Ciudad del Este, we'll begin a tour of its main highlights, with strategic stops at emblematic spots such as the imposing Cathedral of San Blas, considered the largest in the city. We'll then take in the Casino Acaray, a popular entertainment venue.
We'll continue admiring the exterior of the Eastern Mosque, a significant Muslim place of worship. If conditions allow, we may even get out to visit it. Our next stop will be Chipería Mi Abuela, where you can enjoy an authentic taste of Paraguayan cuisine.
Our cultural immersion continues at the El Mensú Museum, a space dedicated to the history of the region. We'll also make a brief stop at Lago de la República, one of the locals' favorite leisure spots.
We'll take a panoramic drive along the main avenue, taking in important buildings such as the Town Hall, the Palace of Justice, and the former President's house.
We'll pass by the exterior of Club Atlético 3 de Febrero stadium before culminating the tour with a visit to the Saltos del Monday, a natural spectacle whose majestic waterfalls will leave you speechless.
We'll then head back to your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu, arriving approximately 6 hours after pickup.
Ciudad del Este Day Trip + Shopping Tour
If you choose this option, on arrival in Ciudad del Este, we'll start the route in front of the Cathedral of San Blas. If you're doing the tour on a weekday, you'll have the option to visit the El Mensú History Museum. On Saturdays, we'll visit Lago de la República instead.
When hunger strikes, we'll stop at La Mansa Paraguay restaurant, where you can have lunch at your own expense.
We'll then visit the Church of San Lucas, admiring its decorative details and careful construction, before heading to Presidente Franco to take in the Saltos del Monday. We'll enjoy these waterfalls surrounded by subtropical vegetation in a beautiful natural setting.
After this stop, we'll return to the urban area of Ciudad del Este for a shopping tour through its famous commercial district, home to over 3,000 shops. You'll have 1 hour of free time to explore the New Zone galleries and browse all kinds of products, from electronics to fashion, in one of the largest shopping centers in South America.
Finally, we'll drop you back at your hotel in Foz after 6 hours on the tour.

This day trip includes pickup from all hotels in Foz do Iguaçu, with the exception of Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. If you're staying there, we'll get in touch to let you know what time to be at the entrance to the Iguaçu National Park.
