Beautiful views of Lake Geneva, UNESCO-recognised terraced vineyards and a medieval fortress await on this Montreux Day Trip from Geneva.
Montreux Day Trip
At the scheduled time, we'll depart from the Geneva bus station and head east towards Montreux, driving along the shores of Lake Geneva, one of the main natural borders between Switzerland and France.
The first stop of our Montreux day trip will be in Corsier-sur-Vevey: a beautiful village in the Swiss canton of Vaud. This picturesque village is home to Chaplin's World, a special museum dedicated to the famous actor. Admission to the exhibition is only included during the winter season.
We'll then continue our tour of Montreux's surrounding area to the terraced vineyards of Lavaux. Did you know that these beautiful hillside vineyards are a UNESCO World Heritage Site? During the summer season, we'll enjoy an aperitif in this unique setting.
Next, we'll head to the Château de Chillon to visit this impressive medieval fortress on the shores of Lake Geneva. During its long history, this imposing castle has been a source of inspiration for poets such as Lord Byron!
After visiting the Château de Chillon, we'll drive to the centre of Montreux. There, you'll have approximately two hours of free time to get some lunch and to photograph its most famous sculpture: the large statue of Freddie Mercury located beside Lake Geneva.
Finally, from Montreux we will return to Geneva, where we'll arrive at the departure point between 6 pm and 6:30 pm.
