In this demonstration of how to make Genoese pesto, you'll see how one of Italy's most popular sauces is prepared in the iconic Palazzi dei Rolli. It will be an unforgettable experience.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet on the second floor of the Palazzo Imperiale, located at Piazza Campetto 8A. From this central area in Genoa, we'll walk to the wonderous Palazzo dei Rolli, a palace with World Heritage Site fame.
We'll explore the main rooms in the palace and then, learn how to make Genovian pesto, also known as pesto alla genovese. It's a recipe originating from the province of Liguria and is widely used to accompany different dishes, such as pasta, pizzas or appetizers. It's one of the most widely used sauces in the world!
During the workshop, we'll see how a chef prepares authentic Genoese pesto. We'll learn everything about this sauce step-by-step, from the selection of the ingredients to their incorporation into the recipe. Basil, garlic, cheese and pine nuts will be the star elements of this activity.
Once everything is ready, we'll try this pesto pasta with focaccia and a glass of Ligurian wine, simply delicious!
After 3 hours of culinary fun, we'll conclude the workshop by saying goodbye at the entrance to the palace, where you'll be given a certificate for the activity.
