Isluga Volcano National Park Day Trip
At 6:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Iquique and set off northbound for the Isluga Volcano National Park. Let's go!
Our first stop will at Unita Hill, where we'll see the geoglyph of a colossal figure. This would be the Giant of Tarapacá. After talking about its significance, we'll head to the Chusmiza viewpoint. When we get here, we'll get acclimatised to the altiplano's altitude while admiring its fertile valley and the mountains of the Andean foothills.
The route will then take us to the Puchildiza Geysers, where we'll watch how the streams of hot water and steam shoot into the air. We'll then visit Colchane, Mauque and some of the other villages located in and around the Isluga Volcano National Park.
You'll also learn about the area's Ayamara culture from some of the locals. We'll then take a break at a restaurant in the park for a lunch that'll include three dishes featuring the local gastronomy.
After lunch, we'll continue exploring the scenery of the Isluga Volcano National Park until we come to the village of Enquelga. When we arrive, you'll be able to enjoy their open-air hot springs.
Feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, you'll be taken back to your hotel in Iquique and dropped off at 9 pm.
