On this tour to Lucena and the cliffs of Bonsucesso we'll explore the great natural and heritage gems of the Paraíba coast, a very complete route!
We'll pick you up from your hotel in João Pessoa at 7 am and drive along the Paraíba coast to Lucena.
Once we arrive in Lucena, we'll admire the watchtower of Forte Velho and then visit the church of Nossa Senhora da Guia, a 16th-century basilica in tropical baroque style - check out the fruit on the façade!
We follow the itinerary to Coqueiral, a place full of coconut trees standing next to the Atlantic. From here we'll walk to the ruins of the church of Bonsucesso, a building of the Carmelite Order. Nature has merged with the limestone and sandstone of its walls, and a large gameleira tree forms part of the site.
From there we'll go to the viewpoint of the Bonsucesso cliffs, an extraordinary place that will give us beautiful panoramic views of Lucena and the delta of the river Camacari.
Afterwards, we'll go down to the beach of Pontinha, where you'll have free time for a relaxing swim and lunch. Refreshed, we'll walk along part of the inlet until we reach the Miriri River. Fancy a dip?
Afterwards, we'll visit some artisans who make pieces with coconut fibres, as well as delicious coconut sweets. We'll learn some facts about the culture and traditions of the area.
Finally, we'll be on our way back to João Pessoa, where we'll arrive at your hotel at 5:30 pm.
