Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll meet just outside the exit gate of the Port of Kuşadası to begin a walking tour that will take us to explore the main charms of this spa town in the province of Aydın.
We'll start the guided tour of Kusadasi by heading to island of Güvercinada, which is connected to the mainland by a footbridge. Here, we'll see an ancient castle whose defensive walls surround the entire island. These walls, which are almost 3 meters high, were instrumental in preventing attacks during a Greek revolt in the 18th century.
After touring this walled fortress, we’ll see the Öküz Mehmed Pasha Caravanserai from the outside, the finest example of Ottoman architecture in Kusadasi. We’ll explain the role that caravanserais like this one played along trade routes. Today, this building has been converted into a hotel.
We'll continue learning about the history of Kusadasi and the famous people who have passed through this Turkish city as we go towards the Grand Bazaar. Here is the perfect spot to buy a souvenir!
We'll wrap up this tour of Kusadasi, which lasts about 1.5 hours, by returning to the port.
