Discover Cinque Terre by Train
At the scheduled time, you'll meet at a meeting point in La Spezia. There board a train to make the short journey along the coast to Vernazza, one of the most colourful towns in this area of Italy. Along the route, which lasts about 15 minutes, you'll have wonderful views over the Ligurian Sea.
Arriving in this picturesque seaside village, the most beautiful of all of the Cinque Terre - which means "Five Earths" in Italian, referring to the five different coastal towns - you'll have free time to wander through the winding streets and admire the vibrant hues of the houses contrasting spectacularly with the sparkling turquoise sea. It's a truly captivating sight!
Next, we'll head to Monterosso, the largest of the Cinque Terre, which stands out for its white sand beach and crystal-clear waters. In addition, you'll learn the gastronomic secrets of this area of northern Italy, where the famous limoncino comes from. Known as limoncello in southern Italy, this yellow liqueur is a real gem!
One of the other stops on this excursion will be Riomaggiore. This quaint village is perched on the side of a hill and looks out over the Ligurian Sea; as well as taking in the magnificent views, you'll observe the daily life of the local fishermen in the port.
Your Cinque Terre tour will come to an end returning to La Spezia by train.
