This walking tour will take us to some of Hollywood’s most popular attractions, whether for their historical interest, architecture, or their role as filming locations for hundreds of movies shot here.
We’ll walk toward Ovation Hollywood, where we’ll go up to the rooftop to enjoy one of the best views of the district. From here, we’ll recall the transformation of Prospect Avenue, the quiet 19th-century road that became vibrant Hollywood Boulevard, the theatrical heart of Los Angeles.
Back on the street, we’ll stop at one of the filming locations of Pretty Woman, where we’ll uncover fun facts about this spot that marked an entire generation. Next, we’ll walk to Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre, a neoclassical-Egyptian building inspired by the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. After that, we’ll visit the legendary El Capitan Theatre, where Citizen Kane premiered and where Disney debuted countless classics.
Shall we continue? We’ll also see the Hollywood Masonic Temple, now home to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, while we look back on the surprising list of famous masons who once walked here.
Lastly, we’ll head toward the famous Dolby Theatre and explore the immortal handprints of its neighbor, the TCL Chinese Theatre. Then, we’ll stop in front of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the oldest in Hollywood and the venue of the first Academy Awards.
After 2.5 hours exploring the movie capital, we’ll return to the meeting point and end the guided tour.
