Reach new heights with this ticket to the Teide cable car and hike up to the highest peak in Spain. You'll be picked up at your hotel in the south of Tenerife and taken on the adventure of a lifetime!
Teide Cable Car + Hike to the Summit
Ready to climb the highest peak in Spain? We'll pick you up at your hotel or the agreed meeting point bright and early and head out toward the Teide National Park. Time to explore Tenerife's other-worldly volcanic landscape!
We'll arrive at the base station of the Teide cable car, get off the bus, and enjoy a trip up to the highest peak in Tenerife. We'll go up about 1000 meters (3280 feet) until we reach 3555 meters (11670 feet) above sea level. After a 10-minute ride in the cable car, we'll have reached our first destination, but there is still a long way to go!
Thanks to the official permit included in this day trip, we'll be able to start the hike up to the summit of the Teide volcano. The hike is intense, but it'll totally be worth the effort since, after just 40 minutes of walking uphill, we'll have reached the top of the crater.
We'll smell sulfur which indicates volcanic activity and, if the day is clear, we'll be able to spot the surrounding islands, such as Gran Canaria, La Gomera, El Hierro, and even La Palma. Make sure to bring your camera!
Finally, we'll make our way back to the cable car, ride back down, and return to the bus. The excursion will come to an end back at the starting point after a total of 6 hours.
Climbing the Peak
This activity doesn't have immediate confirmation upon reservation since it's necessary to request a special permit from the national park to climb the Teide peak.
Once we receive your reservation, we'll process the permit and confirm it once we have obtained your authorization. If after 72 hours you have not received the final confirmation, you can get in touch with us to check the status of this operation.
Additional Info
Those with heart issues, pregnant women, and individuals with reduced mobility cannot go up on the cable car. Please note that, for safety reasons, only visitors wearing sports or mountain shoes are allowed on the Teide cable car. Sandals, shoes without back support, heels, and flat-soled shoes are not permitted.
