History and nature combine perfectly on this excursion to Penedo. In this picturesque village in the state of Alagoas we will also enjoy a boat trip on the São Francisco River to the river island of Recanto.
We'll depart at 5 am from your hotel in Maceió in the direction of Penedo, one of the most beautiful villages in the state of Alagoas.
As soon as we arrive in the village we'll go to a centrally located café where you can have breakfast on your own. Once you've gathered your strength, we'll go to the town's dock for a peaceful boat ride on the Sao Francisco River. We'll sail through beautiful natural scenery that will leave you speechless.
We'll end the trip at Recanto Island, where you can enjoy a swim in the Sao Francisco River. After this refreshing dip, we'll return by boat to the departure pier, where you'll have an hour free to have lunch in one of the restaurants overlooking the river.
After lunch, we'll take a guided tour of the historic centre of Penedo. In this old town, which stands out for its colonial architecture, we'll see the façade of the iconic Teatro Sete de Setembro. We'll also visit the main churches of the town, including the church of Nossa Senhora das Cadenas.
At the end of the tour of Penedo we'll return to your hotel in Maceió, where you're expected to arrive at 8 pm.
