On board the Madrid sightseeing bus from the Big Bus company, you'll be able to take in the main attractions around Madrid, such as Gran Vía, or Puerta de Alcalá.
Bus Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Plaza de Cánovas del Castillo, also known as Plaza de Neptuno. From this central point, you'll hop onto a modern, double-decker bus to begin our scenic route of Madrid.
During the tour, you'll enjoy the best views of Madrid aboard the comfortable double-decker bus. In addition, we drive along through the streets of Madrid, and you'll learn many interesting facts about the monuments we'll see thanks to the recorded commentary in English.
We'll pass by some iconic spots such as the Prado Museum. We'll also drive past the impressive Almudena Cathedral, the majestic Royal Palace, and the beautiful Retiro Park. Additionally, you'll be impressed by other surprise locations such as the Royal Botanical Garden and the Las Ventas Bullfighting Ring.
After enjoying some of Madrid's top sights, we'll return to the meeting point after a total of 1.5 hours.
Bus Route
The Big Bus sightseeing bus follows three routes:
- Orange route (current Madrid): a route that lasts 75 minutes with 10 stops that passes through emblematic sites like the Puerta de Alcalá, the Las Ventas bullring, or the Casa Árabe
- Purple route (historic Madrid): a route that lasts 85 minutes with 13 stops that passes through renowned areas like the Royal Palace, the Puerta de Toledo, or the Templo of Debod
- Blue route (modern Madrid): a route that lasts 90 minutes with 10 stops that passes through iconic areas like the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the Plaza de Colón, or the Fountain of Cybele

Schedule & Frequency
- Orange route (current Madrid): departs at 10 am from Stop 1 (Fountain of Neptune) with buses running every hour until 6 pm
- Purple route (historic Madrid): departs at 9:30 am from Stop 1 (Fountain of Neptune) with buses running every 30 minutes until 6:30 pm
- Blue route (modern Madrid): departs at 10 am from Stop 1 (Fountain of Neptune) with buses running every hour until 6 pm
Ticket Validity
During the booking process, you can choose a 24-hour or 48-hour ticket. During the time your ticket is valid, you can hop on or hop off at any of the sightseeing bus's stops as many times as your want at any of its stops.
Meeting Point Change
Every Sunday, the Paseo del Prado is closed from 9 am to 4 pm. On this day, the meeting point for the sightseeing buses will be on Calle Alfonso XII, next to the main entrance of the Retiro Park.
