Tour Details
Day 1
From your hotel in Manaus, we'll begin about an hour-long journey towards the town of Cachoeira do Castanho. During the trip, we'll learn some interesting facts about the Amazonian landscapes.
Once in Cachoeira do Castanho, we'll board a boat and sail down the Rio Negro, surrounded by the lush Amazonian environment, until we reach Anaconda Amazon Island. What plant and animal species will we encounter along the way? Before we know it, we'll arrive at our destination and reach our base camp, where we'll have lunch.
In the afternoon, we'll take a canoe trip, during which we will try to fish for piranhas and venture into a strategic spot to spot crocodiles. We will end this journey back at the camp, where we'll have dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast, we start an approximately 3.5-hour hike through the jungle. On this route, our guide will show us how the Amazon plants are used in different ways by the local indigenous population. We return to the camp in time for lunch.
After eating, we will enjoy a relaxing canoe ride along the Amazon tributary system. The day ends back at the camp for dinner and a good night’s rest.
Day 3
We will have a tasty breakfast before heading out on foot to an Indian village in the Amazon to discover the customs and way of life of the local inhabitants.
After having lunch at base camp, you'll have the afternoon free to take a relaxing swim in the Rio Negro. We'll meet back up to start our journey back to Manaus. We'll drop you back at your hotel at around 4:30 pm.
Accommodation and Food
The tour includes two nights’ accommodation at a campsite in the Amazon jungle, where you'll have air-conditioned bedrooms and private bathrooms. You will be served all the meals on the itinerary at this location: two breakfasts, two dinners, and three lunches.
