Hike Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel or Port of Messina to set off to the northern slopes of Mount Etna, the starting point of our adventure. Without a doubt, a must-visit destination for those who love hiking, but also for those who don't want to miss this impressive natural wonder in Sicily.
For approximately 3 hours, we'll walk among ancient craters while admiring the stunning volcanic landscapes, along with the vegetation and prints of the last large eruption from 2002.
Once we finish our hiking route, our vehicle will take us to the surrounding area of the town of Castiglione di Sicilia. We'll cross the Sicilian countryside and its vineyards until reaching the Alcantara Valley, where we'll stop to enjoy a delicious picnic-style lunch with typical products from the island.
After lunch, we'll head to the shores of the Alcantara River to marvel at its impressive volcanic cliffs and basalt walls.
Once there, you can take a dip in the river's refreshing waters, take keepsake pictures, and even go to the famous Alcantara Gorges. Between April and July, a unique flowering takes place, covering the land in a lush green mantle.
Finally, we'll return to Messina and say our goodbyes at the starting point after a total of 7 hours.
