We'll meet at 2 pm in Piazza Guglielmo II. Ready to discover the rich cultural diversity of this town thanks to its Arab and Norman influences?
We'll start by visiting the Norman Cathedral of Monreale, better known as the Duomo di Monreale. This building is a clear example of the unique fusion between Arab and Norman art and architecture.
We'll retrace the history of the Old and New Testament of the Bible through every corner of the Cathedral, stopping to admire the colourful mosaics that decorate its walls. Do you know what technique was used to create them?
We'll also enter the ancient Benedictine monastery and cloister, built in the immediate vicinity of the Cathedral. After hearing mysterious stories of this medieval structure, we'll make our way to the nearby belvedere that overlooks the whole valley and the golden basin of orange and citrus trees.
