When booking, you can choose between the following 2 options. In both cases, we'll meet at the indicated time at the Porta Nuova in central Palermo. You can see the details of each option below.
Palermo Tour (3 Hours)
We'll begin our private tour of Palermo by heading to the stunning Palermo Cathedral, a site steeped in remarkable historical events. If it's open, we'll step inside and explore the impressive central nave while uncovering stories from the city's 2,500 years of rich history.
Next, we'll make our way to the Quattro Canti, a striking Baroque square in the heart of the city. Did you know it's considered the centre of Palermo's historic district? As the intersection of Via Maqueda and Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Quattro Canti is truly the beating heart of the city. Here, we'll delve into the city's cultural traditions that have shaped its unique identity.
Our journey will continue to Piazza Pretoria and Piazza Bellini. In the latter, we'll visit the breathtaking Church of Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio. Part of the Norman Palermo and the Cathedral Churches of Cefalù and Monreale UNESCO World Heritage Site, this impressive church will amaze you.
Afterwards, we'll explore one of Palermo's historic markets, where you'll get a glimpse of local life and see a wide variety of regional produce.
Finally, after a total of 4 hours, we'll bring this private tour to an end.
Important: please note that the Church of Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio can only be visited from Monday to Saturday. On days when it's not accessible, we'll visit a baroque church instead.
Palermo Tour + Palatine Chapel (4 Hours)
If you choose this option, after the private tour of Palermo, you'll have about 10 minutes to grab a bite to eat or drink. Afterwards, we'll regroup and make our way to the Palazzo dei Normanni, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sicily’s finest examples of Arab-Norman architecture.
Originally constructed by the Arabs and later expanded by the Normans, this impressive palace is home to the renowned Palatine Chapel, adorned with breathtaking Byzantine mosaics. As we explore Europe's oldest royal residence, we'll discover its most iconic areas, including the magnificent Palatine Chapel.
Finally, after a total of 4 hours, we'll bring this private tour to an end.
