Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of the Afurada Market to start an unforgettable amphibious bus tour of Porto. This unique DUKW vehicle, used during World War II, will allow us to explore the city like never before—on both land and water!
We'll board the vehicle at the ramp and from there, we'll head towards the river. We'll enter the water and the bus will gently glide towards the Arrábida Bridge. There, you'll see one of the most impressive engineering works of the city, with its concrete arch. Did you know that it became the largest in the world?
We'll continue sailing, passing by the Massarelos Helipad as we see the district of the same name, known for its industrial past and its link with river transport.
In the distance, we'll be able to make out the silhouette of the church of Massarelos, one of the most beautiful churches on the river coast. At this point, the amphibious bus will turn around, and we'll head towards the mouth of the Douro, where fresh water meets the Atlantic in a unique fusion of landscapes and colours. Don't forget to snap some photos!
In the final stretch of the tour, we'll sail next to the Duoro Marina, a modern nautical complex that contrasts with the tradition of Afurada. When we least expect it, we'll reach the ramp we used to enter the river and from there, we'll head back to the initial meeting point, where we'll conclude the tour after 50 minutes.
