Los Frailes & Agua Blanca Bike Tour
We'll meet at the indicated time at Malecón Julio Izurieta, where we'll start this bike tour of Los Frailes Beach and Agua Blanca. Ready to ride along the most famous beach in Ecuador? Let's roll!
After introductions, we'll distribute the bicycles and start pedaling to Los Frailes Beach, located in Machalilla National Park, one of the first protected areas in the country. We'll follow a 3-kilometer (1.8-mile) trail to the reserve and, once there, you'll have half an hour free to enjoy the beach. Anyone feel like taking a dip?
We'll then follow the bike route to another black sand beach surrounded by an impressive tropical forest called La Tortuguita, a natural spot that will have you falling in love.
The next stop on the tour is the ancestral community of Agua Blanca, where we'll have a delicious lunch consisting of a starter, a main course, and a drink. With our stomachs full, we'll head to the Archaeological Museum of Agua Blanca for a guided tour.
We'll end the day in a natural pool with medicinal properties thanks to its volcanic waters. Here you can take a refreshing dip and relax.
We'll finish the bike tour by pedaling back to the meeting point in Puerto López. Arrival is scheduled for six and a half to seven hours later.
