We'll climb aboard our vehicle and head to the Christian Catacombs of Callixtus on the ancient Appian Way, a place that dates back to Roman times.
Alongside a guide, we'll explore this labyrinth of tunnels carved in volcanic tuff. We'll find graves from the first Christians. Here, we'll tell you some secrets hidden in these walls. Have you visited a catacomb site before?

Tour of the Appian Way Catacombs + Mamertine Prison
Want an even fuller experience? With this option, we'll take you to 2 of the most iconic sites from Ancient Rome. Departing from the Basilica of Saints Cosme and Damian, we'll start our tour with a visit to the Mamertine Prison, by the Roman Forum.
Built in the 7th century, this prison was used by the Romans to hold important figures, such as Saint Peter and Saint Paul, before their execution under the order of Nero.
Then, we'll head to the Christian catacombs on the ancient Appian Way. Here, we'll explore its underground tunnels to discover the remains of the first Christians. On this route, you'll learn about funerary practices from that time and the mysteries that lie here.
