After picking you up from your hotel, we'll start this African Culture Tour in Salvador de Bahía in the Rio Vermelho promenade. Here, we'll visit the sacred altar of the African deity Yemanja, which is very important for local fishermen.
Our next stop will be Dique do Tororó, where you can take photos of impressive African monuments that ooze mystery and magic. Then, we'll enter the vibrant Feira de São Joaquim market, declared Intangible Heritage in Salvador. Here, we'll see numerous traditional stalls to discover the scents and flavours of Africa. Plus, we'll try the famous acarajé, a truly incredible Brazilian dish.
Following this, we'll head to the Candomblé Sacred Temple, where we'll uncover the customs and traditions of the Ewé-fon African religion. Finally, we'll journey to a favela in the area for a delicious lunch with members of the community.
The menu will include a traditional dish, to choose between a fish or prawn stew, a fillet of beef or fried fish, all of which come accompanied by rice, beans, and farofa. After lunch, we'll take you back to your hotel in Salvador.

In this picturesque district, we'll visit the Afro-Brazilian Museum, where we'll delve into the local culture. Then, we'll head to Ferroviario Neighbourhood to learn about the stories of descendants of slaves.
Next, we’ll head to the Memorial das Baianas or the Carnival Museum, depending on availability. Both museums are perfect for continuing to learn about the culture of Salvador de Bahía. From there, we’ll visit the famous Lacerda Elevator, which connects the Upper City with the Lower City.
After this trip, we’ll head to the Mercado Modelo, a must-see spot to learn how goods and food were stored in the city. Additionally, the market is full of legends and folk tales related to slavery in El Salvador that are sure to leave a lasting impression.
The tour will continue in the Lower City, specifically heading to Salvador’s Subúrbio Ferroviário neighbourhood, where we’ll visit the Laje Museum. To end the tour on a high note, we’ll visit the home of an Afro-Brazilian family, where we’ll share a delicious feijoada lunch. Depending on availability, lunch will be served in the Garcia neighbourhood or in Salvador’s Subúrbio Ferroviário.
After lunch, we’ll take you back to your hotel in Salvador.
