On this day trip to Frades Island, we’ll sail by schooner to one of the most idyllic destinations in Salvador de Bahia, where you’ll have time to swim and relax in front of the vast Atlantic Ocean.
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the Salvador Nautical Terminal, where we’ll board a schooner-style boat to begin this day trip to Frades Island. All aboard!
During the crossing, which lasts approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, you’ll enjoy a unique perspective of Salvador from the sea as we sail across the vast Todos os Santos Bay. Its waters will captivate you from the very first moment.
You’ll see some of its main landmarks, such as São Marcelo Fort, the Itapagipe Peninsula, home to the Monte Serrat Fort, and the famous Bonfim Church. Did you know that this church is an important Catholic shrine that blends faith with Afro-Brazilian traditions such as Candomblé?
Once on Frades Island, we’ll give you around 4 hours of free time so you can make the most of this natural paradise. We recommend swimming in the warm waters of Ponta de Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe Beach.
On the same beach, you can also take the opportunity to enjoy a snack or a drink. In addition, we recommend climbing the steps to visit the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which offers incredible views over the bay.
At the end of this time, we’ll meet again to begin the return crossing to the starting point, where we’ll finally say goodbye after between 7 to 8 hours.
