On the day of the activity, we'll pick you up from your hotel in downtown San Antonio at the indicated time. Time to explore the so-called River City!
The first stop of the day will be an exciting visit to a local cultural icon, the Alamo, where we'll walk among legends as we enjoy a guided tour. As we venture through the courtyard, we'll learn the story of the 1836 Battle of the Alamo. We'll also get up close and personal with some of the Alamo’s largest weapons and fortifications, such as the 16-pounder cannon and the barracks. Finally, we'll take the time to stroll through the beautiful gardens sheltered by the shade of oak trees on the historic grounds.
Along the way to our next stop, we'll admire the multiple points of interest we drive past with the help of our guide's explanations.
Next, we'll explore an enriched combination of San Antonio’s history and landscapes within national parks as we experience the stories of people who came into the Spanish missions in the 1700s. We'll discover even more about San Antonio’s roots and heritage at Mission San Jose — the largest of the city’s four southernmost Spanish Colonial Missions as well as the most visited. Known as the “Queen of the Missions,” its stone walls and granary make it a magnificent sight to see.
A tour of San Antonio wouldn't be complete without taking the elevator ride up 190 m (623 ft) to the top of the Tower of the Americas! From the top, which happens to be the tallest observation deck in Texas, we'll witness the most magnificent panoramic views of San Antonio.
Finally, we'll make our way to the River Walk, a world-renowned 15-mile (24-kilometre) urban waterway, and enjoy a relaxing 35-minute cruise. We'll gain new insights into the city’s culture, history, and architecture as we pass multiple points of interest, such as the city’s very first neighbourhood - La Villita, the Old Mill Crossing, and Selena’s Bridge.
Once our feet are back on the ground, we'll return to your downtown hotel and say our goodbyes after 4 hours.
