On this private day trip to Suzhou from Shanghai, we'll discover the so-called “The Venice of the East”.
Suzhou Private Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Shanghai and travel to Suzhou, situated 100km (6.2 miles) west of Shanghai.
Once we arrive at this picturesque location, our first stop will be one of its magnificent gardens. We recommend you choose to visit the Lion Grove Garden, famous for its stone labyrinth, or the Humble Administrator’s Garden, considered by many as the most beautiful garden in the south of China. Both gardens were established over five hundred years ago and are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Next, take a small riverboat along the city’s quaint canals and contemplate the abundant vegetation.
After a pleasant cruise, set off to the city center, to Suzhou’s main shopping street, Guanqian Jie for an exquisite lunch.
Enjoy a lovely walking tour in the afternoon down Shan Tang Jie Street, the most picturesque avenue in Suzhou. Visit a silk factory and explore Tiger Hill. It is home to a curious leaning pagoda, built in 959, centuries before the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Finally, we'll bring the tour to an end after 7-8 hours as we return to your hotel in Shanghai. If you'd prefer we can also drop you off at another point in the city (Xintiandi, Nanjing Road…).
