Tour Details
We'll meet at Josipa Jurja Strossmayer Park to begin this private tour of Split. Are you ready to discover the most important sites of Croatia's second-largest city?
First, we'll head to Diocletian's Palace, built between the 3rd and 4th centuries A.D. at the request of the Roman emperor Diocletian. This monument is very well preserved and is known as one of the most important landmarks on the Dalmatian Coast.
We'll continue walking through the Peristyle, the square that once provided access to Diocletian's mausoleum which is now the heart of the palace and a popular gathering spot for locals to enjoy a coffee.
Continuing our tour, we'll admire the Golden Gate. In front of this grand arch, you'll find the statue of Bishop Gregory of Nin, dating back to the 10th century. Did you know that legend says you should rub the statue's big toe and make a wish? Give it a try!
Before concluding the tour, we'll pass by other important spots in the city, including the Temple of Jupiter and the Saint Domnius Cathedral. The perfect way to end the tour on a high!
Finally, after 1.5 hours, we'll say goodbye at the promenade in Riva.
