At 10 am, we'll meet in front of the Avlabari metro stop to start this guided tour of Tbilisi. Are you ready to discover the great attractions of the capital of Georgia? Let's go!
After introductions, we'll start walking to the first stop of the tour, the Metekhi Cathedral. Next to this medieval temple on the banks of the Mtkvari River, we'll admire breathtaking views of Tbilisi's historic center and see the impressive statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of the city.
We'll then make our way to Europe Square, where we'll see a fragment of the Berlin Wall, an unexpected but powerful symbol of modern history. From here, we'll hop on a cable car for a scenic ride above the city, enjoying panoramic views as we head up to one of Tbilisi's most iconic landmarks.
At the top, we'll visit the Mother of Georgia statue, a striking symbol of the city that perfectly represents Georgian character and hospitality. After taking in the views, we'll descend by cable car and continue our tour.
Next, we'll explore the famous sulfur thermal baths, a must-see in Tbilisi thanks to their unique architecture and historical importance. Afterwards, we'll head to the colourful Jumah Mosque, one of the city's most distinctive religious buildings.
From there, we'll go down a spiral staircase and continue our walk through the cobblestone streets and typical houses of the center until we reach the stunning waterfall of the Botanical Garden.
Next, we'll visit the Sioni Cathedral, the most important temple in the city. Did you know that this cathedral has been damaged and repaired 5 times in its long history? Afterwards, we'll head to a traditional Georgian bakery, where we'll enjoy a tasting of a Georgian empanada and a lemonade.
Lastly, we'll take a pleasant walk to the Bridge of Peace to see some more wonderful views of Tbilisi.
Finally, we'll bring the tour to an end at around 2 pm.
