Tour Details
We'll meet at the designated time at Corso Raniero Salvati, number 1. Once we're gathered, we'll start this private tour of Piediluco, a charming town known for its lake with the same name. Get ready to explore!
We'll begin our itinerary by visiting the inside of the Sanctuario di San Francisco, a church that dates back to the 13th century, which was built to commemorate the saint of the region.
We'll continue toward the Chiesa parrocchiale di Santa María del Colle, which we'll admire from the outside. Located on an elevated place, this church dominates the entire town. Of course, it's one of the most recognized architectural symbols in Piediluco!
From here, we'll reach one of the scenic points of the town, where you'll enjoy the impressive views of Lago di Piediluco, a beautiful lake surrounded by wooded hills. Don't forget to take a picture!
We'll then step into the heart of the town and explore the streets and characteristic corners of the historic center to discover the authenticity of this site that still preserves its medieval past. As we stroll along its cobblestone streets, we'll see the tombstone dedicated to Galileo Galilei, a testament to the connection between Piediluco and the famous scientist.
Then, we'll go on a stroll along the lake among willows, banks, and water reflections. It's the perfect spot for a quick stop to take pictures or simply relax!
Later, we'll head to the former Communal Palace, one of the most historic civil buildings in the town, and the old Palazzo del Podestà. Very close by, we'll also admire the exterior of Villa Manini.
Our private walking tour of 2 hours will conclude in front of the sculpture "Le Libertà" by Giulio Turcato, a modern artwork installed on the lake's shores.
