At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Ushuaia to make our way down Ruta Nacional 3. Here, we'll reach the point where the hiking trail towards the Laguna Esmeralda begins. Ready for a trek? Let's go!
We'll kick off the first part of this 5-kilometre (3-mile) hike in search of the lagoon. During the walk, we'll be surrounded by one of the lushest forests in the Tierra de Fuego region. The Olivia and 5 Hermanos mountains will dominate the horizon as the sun begins to fall before our eyes. We'll have a strategic pause to take photos and drink water while we tell you all about the ecosystem in the area.
We'll continue our route and, when you least expect it, the Laguna Esmeralda will appear before us. The colours of this lagoon's turquoise waters intensify with the soft sunset rays. It'll be a completely magical moment!
Once we arrive, we'll wander around the lagoon's shores, exploring its surroundings while we approach a mountain refuge where we'll enjoy a dinner. We'll indulge in a tasty lamb and vegetable stew, paired with bread, olives, salamis, and hams. To drink, we'll have wine, coffee, or mate. Enjoy!
After re-energising with dinner, we'll gear up with torches to begin our return hike along the previous 5 kilometres (3 miles) in the forest. Under the starry sky, we'll pause for a rest and take nocturnal photos. You'll fall in love with the southern night of the Tierra del Fuego region!
Lastly, we'll reach the vehicle and return to your hotel in Ushuaia, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 6 hours.
