After meeting at Dongsi North Street, we'll give you a brief introduction and assign you the electric bicycles or electric scooters, whichever you prefer, and give you guidelines on how to use each vehicle, plus helmets. Are you ready to ride through Beijing's historic hutongs?
We'll start by immersing ourselves in the daily life and culture of Beijing. We'll enter its narrow and labyrinthine streets, which have been the soul of Beijing for centuries. As we pass through its traditional houses, we'll tell you stories of its inhabitants and the secrets that have survived the passage of time.
Next, we'll arrive at the majestic Drum and Bell Towers, which date back to 1272 and served three dynasties. There, we'll learn how this building marked the daily rhythm of the city with its bells and drums, long before the clocks we know today existed.
Along the tour, aboard two wheels, we'll witness classic scenes of the Chinese capital. Old men playing Chinese chess on street corners, colorful stores, children playing in the streets and hidden courtyards. We'll make several stops to take pictures, and if you'd like, you can taste the local cuisine at these picturesque cafes.
