Trip to Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress (4 hours)
We'll depart from Brasov and head in the direction of the picturesque, medieval town of Rasnov. There, will explore the charming old town and its robust fortress. Then, we continue on our journey to the stronghold of Bran, otherwise known as the castle of Count Dracula. You'll learn all about the legend of Vlad "the Impaler", who inspired Bram Stoker to write his famous vampire novel. After, we'll return to Brasov. The itinerary for this fantastic trip is very similar to the tour of Dracula's castle and Rasnov citadel which we also offer.
Trip to Bran, Rasnov, and Peles (8 hours)
Our private tour to the interior of Transylvania and Wallachia starts in Brasov. From here, we'll head to the nearby fortress of Rasnov, which is surrounded by mysteries and legends. No less sinister is the next monument on our trip: Bran Castle. Is this really the place that hosted the murky obsessions of Count Dracula himself?
After a few minutes of free time for lunch in the town of Sinaia, we'll enter one of the most beautiful buildings in the town. This is Peles Castle, which broke a couple of records when it was built in the late 19th century. You'll find out about these from our fantastic guide. Finally, we return to Brasov.
Trip to Sighisoara (8 hours)
From Brasov, we'll travel directly to the medieval town of Sighisoara, which is famous as the birthplace of Vlad Tepes, "the Impaler", the real-life Duke, who Count Dracula was based on. We'll visit the interior of the famous Church of the Hill, and the Clock Tower, home to the city's History Museum. After some free time for lunch, we'll return to Brasov. On this return journey, we'll see the exterior of the magnificent Citadel of Rupea, one of the region's most outstanding fortresses. Our route will be very similar to that of the excursion to Sighisoara.
Trip to Sighisoara and Viscri (9 hours)
We'll leave Brasov and head in the direction of Viscri, a small, charming village in the interior of Transylvania that hides many secrets. We'll stroll through the historic center, where you'll encounter its elegant fortified church. We then continue our tour, arriving at the city of Sighisoara, the birthplace of the historical Vlad the Impaler, who was the inspiration for the character of Dracula. Here, we'll visit the famous Church of the Hill and the wonderful Clock Tower. Then, at around midday, you'll have some free time to recharge your batteries and take a walk at your own pace through the enchanting streets of the old town.
In the afternoon, after lunch, we'll meet up again and head south. Finally, after a brief photo stop to admire the exterior of the majestic Citadel of Rupea, we'll return to Brasov.
Admission Tickets
The trips do not include the entrance fees for all of the monuments visited on the itinerary. The landmarks which require payment, and the prices per person for the tickets, are as follows:
- Rasnov Fortress: 12RON for adults, and 6RON for children under 12 and students
- Bran Castle: 55RON for adults, 30RON for students under 26, 40RON for seniors over 65, and 15RON for children under 7 years old
- Castillo de Peles: 60RON for adults, 30RON for seniors over 65 years old, and 15RON for students and children under 10 years old
Tickets for the Church of the Hill and Clock Tower of Sighisoara and the fortified church of Viscri are included in the tour.
Important
- Peles Castle is closed every Monday and Tuesday. If your tour is on one of these days, after visiting Bran Castle we'll return directly to Brasov.
- The Clock Tower of Sighisoara is closed every Monday. If your trip is on that day, we'll visit the Lutheran Church instead.
- The fortified church of Viscri is usually closed between November and March. If your trip is in that period, we'll visit the building's exterior instead.
- Due to renovation work, the upper part of the Rasnov Citadel will not be accessible until further notice.
