Day Trip Details
When making your booking, you'll be able to choose from the following options:
Ferry + Historic Center Tour
You'll set sail at the scheduled time from the port of Buenos Aires aboard the Colonia Express ferry. You'll dock at the pier in Colonia del Sacramento after a crossing of approximately one hour and 15 minutes.
Once you disembark, you’ll take a 1.5-hour walking tour through the historic center of Colonia del Sacramento, one of Uruguay's most beautiful cities! During this guided tour, we'll discover the beauty of the city’s old neighborhoods, whose historic district has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As you'll see, we'll observe the house's exterior architecture, which blends Portuguese colonial style with Spanish influence. During the tour, we'll also pass by the iconic lighthouse next to the Bastión de San Pedro, the Basílica del Santísimo Sacramento, and the Calle de los Suspiros.
After the tour of Colonia del Sacramento, you'll have free time until the afternoon, when you'll take the ferry back to Buenos Aires.
Ferry + Lunch
On this tour, you'll enjoy a free city bus in Colonia del Sacramento, and the tour includes lunch at a local restaurant (this restaurant may vary depending on availability or the season).
If lunch takes place at El Refugio restaurant, the menu will be:
Main course, choose from:
- Grilled chicken thigh with mixed salad
- Breaded chicken with fries
- Homemade pasta of the day with one of the following sauces: filetto, bolognese, or leek and mushroom cream
- Fish of the day with mashed potatoes
- Beetroot burger with salad
- Grilled pork bondiola with mashed potato
Dessert: caramel cream or flan, depending on the day.
If lunch takes place at Finca del Sacramento restaurant, the menu will be:
Starter, choose from:
- Braised meat empanada
- Mozzarella, confit tomato, basil, and black olive empanada
Main course, choose from:
- Chicken breast with caponata and mashed potato
- Pork bondiola with sweet potato mash
- Fusilli sautéed with seasonal vegetables
- Fish of the day with pumpkin mash
- Breaded beef with fries
Dessert, choose from:
- Flan with dulce de leche
- Pancake with dulce de leche
Return Schedule
Please note that, regardless of the option and the starting time you choose, the return schedule is at 6 pm.
