On this day trip from Buenos Aires, you can choose whether you want to go to Montevideo on a direct Buquebus ferry or if you want to make a stop in Colonia del Sacramento and continue by bus to the Uruguayan capital. In both cases, you'll enjoy one night of accommodation with breakfast and a panoramic tour of Montevideo.
Modalidades
When booking, you can choose from one of the following tour options.
Ferry to Colonia + Bus to Montevideo + Tour
Day 1
On the first day, you'll have to be at the Puerto Madero terminal at 7:15 am. From this point in Buenos Aires, you'll depart on a Buquebus ferry at 8:30 am. After a pleasant crossing of the Río de la Plata, you'll dock at the Uruguayan port of Colonia del Sacramento at 9:30 am. As soon as you disembark from the ferry, Buquebus staff will show you where to take the bus to Montevideo, which will depart from the same terminal in the port of Colonia.
After a road trip of about 3 hours, you'll arrive at Terminal Tres Cruces. From this bus station in the Uruguayan capital, you'll take a panoramic tour of Montevideo. On this route, which will take place in a minibus or bus, you'll enjoy the explanations of an English-speaking guide.
We'll start the tour by visiting the port area and the Plaza de la Independencia, the heart of the Uruguayan capital. Afterwards, we'll take you to the El Fogón restaurant, where you'll have 2 hours free to eat. Then, we'll continue the tour, driving along the Avenida 18 de Julio to the Estadio Centenario. We'll also pass by the Rambla, where you'll see the giant letters with the name of the city.
You'll have one hour free in the Rambla area for shopping. Afterwards, we'll return to the port of Montevideo, where another vehicle will be waiting for you to take you to a hotel in the capital. You'll have the rest of the day to spend as you please.
Day 2
After breakfast at the hotel, you can explore Montevideo at your leisure until we pick you up from your accommodation at around 4 pm to take you to the bus station at Terminal Tres Cruces. From there, you'll drive to the port of Colonia del Sacramento, where you'll take the ferry that departs at 8:15 pm. At around 9:30 pm, you'll dock at the Puerto Madero dock in Buenos Aires.
