On this 2-day tour along the Uruguayan coast, we'll cross Rio de la Plata to visit Colonia del Sacramento or Riachuelo for an unforgettable experience!
Tour Options
During the booking process, you can choose between two tour options. Both start and end in front of the Monumental Stadium (River Plate Stadium) and include a tour assistant and one night's accommodation on board the ship.
Below, you'll find a brief description of each option:
Colonia del Sacramento Trip
We'll begin with a short introduction to the route ahead, as we prepare to set sail along the mighty Río de la Plata. Once everything is ready, we’ll unfurl the sails and head toward our destination: the charming city of Colonia del Sacramento. Let the adventure begin!
Over the course of six hours, you’ll witness the vast expanse of the river, its waters shifting between golden and earthy brown tones under the changing light. For the curious, there's a chance to learn the basics of sailing and feel the wind in the sails as we glide across it.
As we near the Uruguayan coast, the silhouette of Colonia del Sacramento slowly comes into view. Look closely, and you’ll spot rooftops, cobbled streets, and the iconic lighthouse rising above the shoreline. We're almost there!
Once ashore, you'll have the rest of the day free to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through its picturesque colonial streets, visit the famous Calle de los Suspiros, or climb to the top of the lighthouse for panoramic views of the Río de la Plata.
At the end of the day, you can return to the sailboat to spend the night in cozy cabins, gently rocked by the river. Prefer solid ground? You’re welcome to book your own hotel in Colonia and enjoy a night on land.
The next morning, we’ll set sail once more, heading back to the starting point. We expect to arrive and say our goodbyes around 6 pm.
Riachuelo Trip
In this experience, we’ll sail for 8 hours to Riachuelo, a peaceful town southwest of Colonia del Sacramento, an ideal place to escape the urban hustle and unwind.
Once there, you’ll have free time to explore the village at your own pace. The Riachuelo marina offers great facilities, including soccer and paddle courts, as well as restrooms, showers, and barbecue areas for your convenience.
Enjoy the surrounding wooded areas by hiking nature trails or simply relaxing along the creek’s shore. You can choose to spend the night on the sailboat or, if you prefer, book a cozy stay in one of the charming country cabins available in the village.
The following day, we’ll set sail back to the starting point, arriving around 6 pm.
Tour Accommodation
This activity includes one night’s accommodation in the sailboat’s double cabins, which feature bunk beds and mattresses. Please note that you'll need to bring your own sleeping bag. You can use the facilities of the marinas of these destinations, which have restrooms and showers.
If you prefer not to spend the night on the sailboat, you’ll need to arrange your own accommodation in either Colonia del Sacramento or Riachuelo, depending on the option you select.
