If you like sailing, this Cabo Frio catamaran trip is perfect for you. We'll sail along the coast of the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. All aboard!
Cabo Frio Schooner Ride
We'll meet at 9:30 am at the port of Cabo Frio and set off on a catamaran trip along the coast of this paradisiacal destination in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
We'll start the trip by sailing through the Itajuru Channel, which connects the Araruama Lagoon with the Atlantic Ocean. As we sail through these waters you'll be able to see the Moringa Condominium—did you know that this neighbourhood is one of the most luxurious and exclusive in Cabo Frio?
Next, we'll skirt the coast of the islet of Japonés and head for the island of Papagayos. In this last unspoilt area, you'll have 30 minutes of free time to take a refreshing dip in the sea. After a dip in the sea, we'll continue our schooner trip sailing past Praia Brava and the fort of San Mateo.
The next stop will be at the Fort's beach, where you'll have another 30 minutes of free time for a swim. Afterwards, we'll continue the sea route at the inlet of Navío Carolina, named after the ship of the same name that sank here in 1913.
After learning about the history of the shipwreck, we'll skirt the promontory on which the Cabo Frio lighthouse stands and return to the starting pier.
Arrival at this point is scheduled for two and a half hours after setting sail.
