Discover the paradisiacal landscapes of the state of Rio de Janeiro on this catamaran trip around Cabo Frio. We'll get to know the most beautiful and important corners of this coastal city.
Cabo Frio Catamaran Ride
We'll meet at 11 am at the Canal Boulevard terminal to board a catamaran to set sail and begin this unforgettable journey through Cabo Frio. Ready to discover this marvel of the state of Rio de Janeiro?
On board the catamaran, we'll head towards the Itajuru Channel, a navigable 6-kilometer (nearly 4-mile) passage that connects the Araruama Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. We'll also pass through the Moringa area, built in the 70s and home to successful businessmen and artists - a most luxurious area!
From here we'll go to Ilha do Japonês, a small island with crystal clear waters whose beauty will captivate you from the moment we arrive. Later, we'll continue sailing the waters of Cabo Frio until we reach the Forte de São Mateus, a fort built in 1616 to defend the city from European invasions.
If seeing the wonderful waters of Cabo Frio has made you want to take a dip, this part of the tour is for you! We'll stop at Praia do Forte for a swim in its crystal clear waters. If you want, you can even go snorkeling!
We'll return to the boat and travel to the Farol da Lajinha, a 7-meter (23-foot) tall lighthouse from 1913. Did you know that its lights can reach 9 miles? We'll continue the catamaran ride through Cabo Frio at Praia Brava, so called because of the strong waves that cover the sandy strip at certain times of the day.
Finally, we'll make another stop at Ilha dos Papagaios, where you can swim and watch the numerous parrots and parakeets that migrate to the island every year. Legend has it that couples who kiss in front of the island never separate. Is it true?
We'll finish this unforgettable catamaran ride around Cabo Frio returning to the starting point between 1:30 and 2 pm.
