Do you want to go scuba diving? Whether you're a beginner or already have an official certification, this scuba diving activity in Aci Castello is your chance to discover all the secrets of the waters of the Gulf of Catania.
Activity Details
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Via Provinciale 23/25 and, from this point in Aci Trezza, we'll walk to the port of Aci Castello, where a boat will be waiting for us. We'll board a boat and start sailing along the waters of the Ionian Sea in search of the best places for scuba diving.
We'll start the dive by equipping ourselves with all of the necessary technical equipment, from the fins to the oxygen pump. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, we'll go over the role of each piece of equipment, and we'll also explain the underwater communication signals and some basic safety rules.
Afterwards, we'll dive! Ready to explore this protected marine area of the Cyclopean Isles.? If it's your first dive, you can go as deep as 6 metres (19 metres). On the other hand, if you have an official certificate, you can dive as deep as 18 metres (59 feet).
Accompanied by the instructor at all times, we'll swim close to islets of volcanic origin admiring the beautiful flora and fauna that inhabit its waters. We'll see white seabream, blackspot seabream, octopus, sea sponges, gorgonias and many other species.
As we dive off the coast of Aci Castello, we'll see incredible volcanic faults, columns of solidified lava and curious rock formations. In addition, we'll approach different points of the Gulf of Catania where we'll be able to see sunken ships from the Second World War.
After 4 hours in total, we'll finish the activity by disembarking at the port of departure.
