Day Trip to the Itaimbezinho Canyon
We'll kick off this exciting excursion by picking you up from your hotel in Caxias do Sul at 9 am. Our destination? Cambará do Sul, one of the gateways to the breathtaking Parados da Serra National Park.
Our first stop will be at the majestic Itaimbezinho Canyon, one of the park's prime highlights. Did you know that Itaimbezinho translates to "sharp stone" in Tupi-Guarani? It stretches for nearly 6 kilometers (3.75 miles) and will surely leave you in awe!
We'll start our adventure by trekking along the Vortex Trail, a three-hour hike that will present various angles of the canyon from its many viewpoints. Along the way, we'll also pass through an Araucaria forest, perfect for discovering the region's typical plant life.
Once we reach the end of the Vortex Trail, we'll take a well-deserved break to relax a bit. Feeling revitalized, we'll proceed to trek along the Cotovelo Trail, and hike another 30 minutes. Afterward, you'll have an hour of free time in Cambará do Sul to grab lunch at a local restaurant.
As the day draws to a close, we'll head back to Caxias do Sul and conclude the tour at 7:30 pm, where we'll drop you off at your hotel.
