On this day trip to Morro Reuter and Ivoti, we'll follow the famous Romantic Road from Caixas do Sul. We'll explore German and Japanese heritage in Brazil.
Day Trip Details
We'll start this day trip after picking you up from your hotel in Caixas do Sul to begin our adventure along part of Romantic Road. Are you ready? Let's go!
Firstly, we make our way to Morro Reuter, a welcoming village that was colonised by the Germans in the 19th century. Once we arrive, we'll make our way to Lavandário do Morro, where we'll walk around enjoying the soft aroma of lavender fields. How relaxing! Afterwards, we'll visit Parque de Mosaicos Caminho das Serpentes (Serpent's Path Mosaic Park), where we'll have the chance to observe, in an idyllic spot surrounded by dense vegetation, various artworks made of small mosaics and a woodcut exhibition.
We'll continue our journey until we reach a ceramics workshop and a monument dedicated to books. Morro Reuter has many cultural options on offer! After working up an appetite, you'll have some free time to grab yourself some lunch in a picturesque local restaurant.
Then, we'll leave behind Morro Reuter and make our way to our next stop, Ivoti. Before that, we'll visit the Japanese Colony, as well as the Colony Memorial. We'll find out about how Japanese people settled here in the 1960s and how they have developed their culture.
As soon as we arrive at Ivoti, we'll be able to witness its German legacy through its buildings with its traditional wooden frameworks. Moreover, if it's the weekend, we'll be able to visit the arts, culture, and food fair that is celebrated there. You'll have some free time here to enjoy an afternoon coffee if you wish while you experience the city's culture.
Lastly, we'll take you back to your hotel in Caxias do Sol, after a total of approximately 10 hours.
