With this ticket to the archaeological site of Epidaurus, you can discover all the secrets of Classical Greece in one of its most important sanctuaries.
Why Visit the Epidaurus Archaeological Site?
Known today for the theatre that bears its name, Epidaurus is an unmissable stop on your trip to Greece. This spectacular archaeological site was a centre for healing, worship and sport in ancient Greek civilisation.
With this ticket, you'll embark on a journey through history to see some of the most impressive architectural achievements, such as the Theatre of Epidaurus. This is a 14,000-seat theatre, whose acoustics are so good that it still hosts artistic performances today. In fact, did you know that if you drop a coin on the floor in the centre of the orchestra, someone sitting in one of the last tiers will be able to hear it? Hear for yourself!
During your visit, you'll also see the Temple of Asclepius which was dedicated to the god of medicine. Although today only a few columns remain, this was one of the most important sanctuaries in ancient Greece. All the sick and wounded of the country went to this centre to seek the help of the son of Apollo.
On your tour of Epidaurus, you'll also see the Tholos, an impressive circular building, and the remains of the Stadium, where the great athletes competed. In addition, this ticket includes admission to the Archaeological Museum of Epidaurus, where you'll find more in-depth explanations of the exterior constructions, as well as pieces of pottery, columns and statues.
