Discover one of the best Swiss chocolates by booking your tickets to Chocolarium. You’ll explore the history of Maestrani and its interactive factory. A perfect plan for those with a sweet tooth!
Chocolarium, the Happiness Factory of Munz and Minor
In the municipality of Flawil, in the canton of St. Gallen, stands the Chocolarium, Munz & Minor’s “factory of happiness” from the Maestrani company. Swiss chocolate lovers, welcome!
By booking your tickets to the Chocolarium, you’ll gain direct access to a tour of various themed rooms. You’ll start in the introductory room, where you’ll learn about the philosophy of Maestrani, a company founded in 1852 whose chocolate-making tradition has been upheld for over five generations.
Next, you’ll walk through a glass-enclosed gallery approximately 80 m (262 ft) long that serves as an industrial observation walkway. From here, without interfering with the humidity and temperature conditions of the environment, you’ll watch the operation of the production lines that manufacture, transport, and package specialties such as Prügeli or Munz bars.
The tour will continue through interactive rooms dedicated to the sensory engineering of chocolate, culminating in the so-called “happiness space”—a room featuring five fountains of liquid chocolate, ranging from white varieties to classic dark chocolate.
Finally, you’ll conclude the experience in the chocolate boutique, which offers over 300 products straight from the factory.
