Learn how to kayak on the Espolón River, which runs through the heart of the Los Lagos Region in Chilean Patagonia – a unique experience!
Kayaking Class on Espolón River
At 10 am, we'll leave Futaleufú for the banks of the Espolón River (the exact location will vary depending on weather conditions).
As soon as we arrive, we'll train you briefly on how to handle the kayaks. You'll see that it's not as difficult as it seems, you'll only need to learn some basic concepts related to the paddling posture and other essential techniques to practice this sport.
After the theoretical class, we'll move on to the practical phase, which will consist of paddling almost 4 miles (6 km) of the Espolón River. This is an easy class II route, in which you'll learn to navigate the rapids of the river while paddling on the kayak. The handling of this boat requires a basic technique called Eskimo turn, which you'll learn during the tour.
The kayak route on the Espolón River will last 3 hours. At the end of this practical class on the water, we'll return to the shore for a snack that includes a selection of local products.
Finally, at 3 pm we'll return to Futaleufú.
Pickup
This activity includes pickup from hotels located in the urban area of Futaleufú. If you're staying in more remote places, we'll pick you up at 348 Sargento Aldea Street.
