Discover the world's oldest city and step back in time to the origins of Christianity on this fascinating day trip to Jericho.
Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel in Jerusalem at the indicated time, we'll leave the historical city behind and head east to Jericho, the oldest city in the world, taking a panoramic tour around its historical centre to find out more about this ancient urban settlement.
We'll discover the long, long history of this Biblical city and explore some of its most important places, including the Sycamore tree from the biblical story of Zacchaeus and Elisha's Spring.
We'll also head to the western part of the city, where we'll take the Jericho Cable Car. With incredible views of the city, this holds the Guinness World Record for being the longest cable car below sea level. It will take us to the Mount of Temptation, where the views, which are also mentioned in the Bible, are even more impressive.
We will continue our excursion to Qaser el Yahud on the Jordan River. What makes this place special? This is supposed to be the site where John baptised Jesus, now a popular place for visitors to be baptised themselves.
Our last stop will be at the Dead Sea - without a doubt, the cherry on the cake! You can relax in the water and enjoy its natural healing properties. The day trip will then come to an end at the starting point in Jerusalem after 10 hours.
