Welcome to Wangxian Valley! During your visit, you’ll be able to stroll through a valley that seems suspended in time. You’ll explore ancient Gan-style villages, cross millennia-old stone bridges, and lose yourself in cobblestone alleys that will transport you straight back to the past.
As you explore the area, you’ll walk along trails, cross suspension bridges over gorges, and visit lookout points offering breathtaking views of the mountains surrounding the valley.
One of the valley’s greatest attractions is its incredible wooden houses perched on the cliffs, an architectural feat that defies gravity and clings to the vertical rock face almost like swallows’ nests. We recommend staying until dusk: when the sun sets, magic fills the air. The valley and the houses are illuminated by thousands of warm lanterns that reflect off the river’s waters, transforming the gorge into a dazzling scene worthy of the most beautiful legends of Chinese mythology.
